When I asked Donald to be my Best Man, he asked if I wanted some kind of a traditional party. I said NO! He suggested that he come over and we spend several days hiking and spending time together. I thought this was a great idea.
He had been looking at my web page and had gotten inspired by the pictures of Bridal Wreath falls. He thought we should do something is the same park (Saguaro National Park east). He suggested several days on the trail and going up Mica Mountain. About 30 miles and going up high. I thought this an adventurous idea since Don had never done a hiking trip this long and had not hiked for over a decade. We set up a time for me to meet him at the airport.
I get to the airport and there is Dan. Being the slow person that I am I ask “what are you doing here?” He says that he is coming on the trip. It turns out that there had been a conspiracy going on, and that Stacy (who hates surprises of all kinds) was involved.
The next morning Dan and Don get more food (I had gotten supplies for 2) and we head off. 5 turns after getting in the car and we are in the parking lot at the trail head.
